|In the framework of chamber music, with or without electronics, Miso Music Portugal develops its own projects such as the Miso Ensemble, as well as the ones carried out with its associated artists, namely the Sond'Ar-te Electric Ensemble and the Matosinhos String Quartet.
Thanks to the substantial development of electroacoustic means during the last 60 years, chamber music is nowadays experiencing a true renaissance, where one encounters a great richness of diverse works and aesthetics. Giving voice to this variety is one of the main aims of the projects performed by the Miso Studio with the Sond'Ar-te Electric Ensemble, by the Sond'Ar-te Electric Ensemble Soloists or the Matosinhos String Quartet.
To this objective one should also join Miso Music Portugal's essential strategy concerning the promotion of Portuguese music, which relies on composing chamber music performances essentially of Portuguese works from the 20th and 21st centuries, including numerous commissions to composers from various generations, both Portuguese and foreign.
Chamber music with or without electronics - as "small orchestra", solo, or within one of its most sophisticated genres, the string quartet - is a true vehicle for transmitting the most original contemporary music ideas.
