Claude Cadoz at O'culto da Ajuda
In April, in the framework of the EASTN (European Art Science Technology Network), of which Miso Music Portugal makes part, Claude Cadoz is in residency at the Lab for Electroacoustic Creation (LEC) at O'culto da Ajuda in Lisbon. Using the potential offered by the Miso Music Portugal Loudspeaker Orchestra this French composer is working on the spatialization of his music developed with the GENESIS system, a computer environment for music creation based on the physical objects simulation language CORDIS-ANIMA.
Claude Cadoz is a research engineer of the French Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication. He is Head of ACROE, a research and creation centre focused on computer music, image and motion, multi-sensory art, which he founded in 1976 with Annie Luciani and Jean-Loup Florens. He is the creator of the GENESIS software. He has built a library of instrumental models, called Instrumentarium, which is currently composed of about 10 000 models.
The Portuguese audience will have the opportunity to listen to Claude Cadoz's music, as well as of various other creators connected with the ACROE, during the next edition of the Música Viva Festival, which will be taking place between May 21 and 30 at O'culto da Auda in Lisbon.
