1st Sond’Ar-te Composition Competition 2008 - Chamber Music with Electronics
In order to encourage the composition of chamber music with electronics, Miso Music Portugal and the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble are organising, the “1st Sond’Ar-te Composition Competition 2008 - Chamber Music with Electronics”
The Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble is an ensemble of outstanding soloists living in Portugal specifically dedicated to the “mixed repertoire”, in which acoustic instruments are combined with the most recent electronic technologies.

Workshop and Concert on Music and Artificial Life (part of ECAL 2007)
Belem Cultural Centre, Lisbon, Portugal
This workshop will focus on the applications of Artificial Life to music and the
tools needed to create and study such systems. These tools are mostly drawn
from research into the origins and evolution of biological organisms, ecologies,
and cultural systems on the one hand, and in part from A-life computer modelling
methodologies on the other.

Miso Music Portugal Electroacoustic Studio - Artistic Residencies
Continuing its policy of promoting and encouraging musical creation, Miso Music Portugal has created in 2005 a program of artistic residencies in the (then) recently created Electroacoustic Creation Studio (ECS). By providing technical and human support and establishing partnerships with several foreign studios, Miso Music wishes to stimulate electroacoustic creation, giving young composers the opportunity to develop and present their work in the annual Música Viva Electroacoustic Festival.

"Electroacoustic Theatre"

For children aged 4 till 12, this production stages 4 original and adapted stories. Music was commissioned by Miso Music Portugal to 4 portuguese composers.
Tales:
• “Plop!” written by Ana de Castro Guimarães; music by Isabel Pires
• “O Rouxinol do Imperador” adapted from a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen; music by Miguel Azguime
• “A Nova Música do Rei” (adapted from “O Rei Vai Nu”) by Hans Christian Andersen; music by António Ferreira
• “A Estrela do Mar foi Viajar” written by Mafalda de Azevedo; music by Simão Costa

New CD's from Miso Records
Next February 2 new CD's from portuguese duo Miso Ensemble will be released by the label Miso Records. In Miso Ensemble Vol. III and IV (Improvisations and electricity), Paula e Miguel Azguime, play their own compositions followed by Robert Glassburner in the bassoon and contra-bassoon and Alain Neveux in the piano.
